Michael Rimmer’s coach backs athlete to push on after injury has hampered his progress in the last couple of years. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News coach Norman Poole said:

‘Michael has had two years of bad luck with injuries and he did remarkably well just to get to the Olympics this year. He could easily have written off this season after suffering with his double hernia.’ Said Poole.

‘Now, for the first time in a long while, he is injury free and looking forward to a good winter’s training. Michael still has a lot to offer the sport.’

Michael jets off to Kenya with his training partners, Niall Brooks of Sale Harriers and Bolton United Harrier Tom Lancashire, at the end of the month to take part in some winter altitude training.
